Select TV’s recently announced distribution plans are set to begin in over 200 DMAs, in a direct challenge to the already loosening grasp of the traditional cable and satellite pay-TV providers. Beyond the company’s nationwide retail relationships, it will begin Uber-style instant delivery distribution in all 210 DMA TV markets. As cord-cutting accelerates, Select TV offers customers a perfect substitute for the typical cable or satellite subscription, allowing them to enjoy comparable programming, including optional premium and pay-per-view content. While Select TV is powered by the web, the addition of an HDTV antenna gives customers access to all of their live local TV stations, and in turn delivers additional eyeballs to those TV stations that might otherwise lose them as consumers ditch their cable TV subscriptions for web-based alternatives.

FreeCast is now accepting pre-orders for its long awaited set top box. Select TV, which was previewed at the National Association of Broadcasters’ Show in Las Vegas earlier this year, promises to deliver a next-generation television experience at a fraction of the price of cable TV. For just $99, Select TV combines FreeCast’s Media Aggregation Platform, which organizes over 350,000 TV episodes, 100,000 movies, over 4000 streaming channels, more than 50,000 radio stations, over 25,000 games, and more with live local over-the-air broadcast channels received via a free HDTV antenna.
