NEW YORK, Sept. 25, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Leaders from across the globe gathered last evening for the launch of Africa: Leading from the Heart, the latest book by H.E. Macky Sall, former President of Senegal and former Chair of the African Union. The event was organized by the Macky Sall Foundation for Peace, Dialogue and Development, on the margins of the 2025 UNGA.

Africa's vision for a changing world

In his address, President Sall shared both a testimony and a roadmap for Africa's role. Far from being a lament, the book, which has now been released to the public, is a manifesto for a continent determined to rise above prejudice and structural injustice.

The book sets priorities for Africa's integration into the concert of nations:

• Reforming global governance : Africa must no longer remain at the margins of decisions taken elsewhere. Sall calls for reform of the Bretton Woods system, fairer representation, improved credit ratings, and lasting solutions to Africa's debt burden.
• A just energy transition : Recognizing Africa's resources and arable land, he advocates for an equitable transition that enables the continent to contribute to climate action without compromising development.
• Youth and innovation : Africa's young people must seize the future through education, entrepreneurship, and creativity: "Believe in yourselves. The future is yours. Africa will be what you make of it."
• Pan-African integration : The African Continental Free Trade Area and regional cooperation are highlighted as levers for growth and sovereignty.
